Approval for GOP outside the south: 12 percent

Approval for the Republican party among all Americans: 21 percent
Among women: 12 percent
Among independents: 11 percent
Blacks: 3 percent
Hispanics: 6 percent (gracias, Senator Sessions!)
The 18-29s: 6 percent
Outside the south: 12 percent

And even in their strongholds:

Among Republicans, 69 percent -- their own party!
Among Southerners, 43 percent

The Republicans have lost a third of their own party, and half the south!

But that's okay -- in 2012 those numbers will rise because the GOP will have a leader everybody likes -- Palin, Jindal, Huckabee, Sanford, Gingrich...!
